A Fire in Waycross

There is a wildfire in Waycross, Georgia.

The fire has cost 1.6 million in damages so far. It is dangerously close to reaching the Okefenokee Swamp.

18 homes have been damaged.

1,000 have been evacuated with another 5,000 that should evacuate.

This was made all the more real to me as smoke filled Kingsland and St. Marys (my home) which is nearly 90 miles away. The ashes covered my car for three days.

At the heart of our district, we have tragedy. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Waycross and across South Georgia.

  3. I just want to say Thank You and God Bless all the men and women that have come to the rescue of the people of Waycross and surrounding counties, I live in Waycross and have gone out ato the staging areas and helped with the firefighters but I still feel that I wish I could do more, these people are sent from God and there is no way we can ever thank them for protecting us. I just pray for all of them everyday and I know God is there in your hands and hearts as you battle this demon. If there ever were angels on earth they have all come out now. Take a minute and close your eyes and thank God for all of these people, we all owe our lives to them.
